Maavee MyLife: Wholly you! đŸ«”

Get to know the tangled web of well-being.

Hello Maavee Community!

There’s no better time to embrace change than with the change of seasons. This month brings you an evolved MyLife. At Maavee, we believe that wellness is life — a continually unfolding, personal, and lifelong aspiration to be well. It’s no accident that Maavee means “my life” in French.

Navigating this journey includes a lifetime of exploration, discovery, learning, connection, sharing, giving and even earning. It requires a holistic approach inclusive of your mind, body, soul, money, work and planet, which are intrinsically connected — each with impacts on the others. For example, we all know that money is a leading cause of anxiety and being good to the planet feeds the soul.

Let’s be clear — there is no silver bullet to being well. This is why Maavee exists: to help you explore, discover, learn, connect, share, give and earn. All that said, what follows is a focus on the six tenets of being well, which we hope will be helpful as you navigate your personal journey. So take a beat, read on, be curious, and don’t forget to give feedback! 🙏

Enjoy and be well,
Frank

Wholly you! đŸ«”

Let’s get this “you” party started by highlighting the interconnectedness of it all, offering insights to spark your curiosity, inspiring intention and action, and most importantly helping you be mindful as life unfolds.

Mental health is top of mind for the majority of humanity. We do not have to waste time explaining why that is, just turn on the news. WAIT, DON’T DO THAT! That’s part of the problem.🙄 Last year, the World Federation of Mental Health deemed that “mental health is a universal human right”. Think about that
we likely do not think of mental health as a right — that’s profound, no?

Not only does it empower us to own our head peace, it encourages us to treat others with the respect that comes with a universal human right. To help you take ownership of your mental health and hygiene, we have a whole category to explore in the Maavee app, which includes coaching, therapy, journaling, mindfulness, and the list goes on. And again, it’s all interconnected — a healthy mind starts in the gut, is supported by an active body, needs rest and recovery, and requires connection with ourselves and others. We invite you to explore these topics in the Journeys area in the Maavee app.

World Mental Health Day is on October 10th and this year’s theme is ‘It’s time to prioritize mental health in the workplace’. This is a meaty topic, but the goal is clear: to champion mental health, build practices, and create cultures where employees can contribute and thrive. Maavee believes that the best companies in the world do not only invest in the success of employees in their jobs, but in life. Your employer may have given you Maavee, so they are leading the way!

Ask someone how they’re doing in their mind-space this October 10th
it’s a perfect invitation to connect. And to make support more accessible, earn 10% Maavee Cash back this month on our Mental Health Collection!

We often talk about gut health. Why? It’s so important! It all starts in the gut and impacts your body and your mind. Check out Listen to your gut! with Dr. Luc Maes streaming in Journeys or the Healthy gut, healthy life nugget on the home screen this month and grab 10% off the entire Gut Health Collection.

Speaking of Dr. Luc, we would be remiss if we did not mention KAIBAE, a line of powerful products to support a healthy gut microbiome. “Kaibae” means “How are you? Are you well?” in Kusaal, a Ghanaian dialect. Luc, his wife, Barbara, and their team of botanists and researchers seek to answer that question deeply and meaningfully. They landed on Baobab as their core ingredient, which comes from the ancient tree of life found in Ghana and other parts of Africa. Plus, “Kaibae” and “Baobab” are two of the grooviest words to say, so there’s that!

Giving back and helping others is like a double espresso shot of goodness — for your soul and humanity! Volunteering is a powerful tool in your bag of well-being tricks. It lifts those in need, boosts your own well-being, and fills you with purpose and joy. Maavee Cares, our growing collection of opportunities to give back, now includes a super cool chance to assist sight-challenged folks across the globe, right from your phone! Check out Be My Eyes in the Maavee app today. Together, let’s help others see the world!

This month’s money moment doubles as October’s Maavee Pick from The Bookshelf. Money is at the top of the list when it comes to anxiety and stress. Yes, money and mental well-being are intrinsically connected. (I suspect you are starting to get the “connected” picture here. 😉) That said, we encourage you to read (or listen to) Paco de Leon’s Finance for the People, especially if you find yourself freezing physically and emotionally at the mere mention of money. de Leon chronicles the deep-seated issues that surround everyone when it comes to money, whether you grew up having it or not having it, whether you’re “good with money” or “bad with money.” He helps you understand the anxiety around financial issues, and how any pain involved in your experience with money can be healed and repaired. It’s about our relationship to ourselves about money. Financial well-being is a real head-scratcher to most of us
it feels scary and overwhelming
and de Leon’s book is a stupendous first step toward connecting your mind, heart, and wallet.

Who says we can’t feature ourselves! A little shameless self-promotion is fine if it helps you and helps the planet, no?!! At Maavee, not only do we curate “for good” — good to the planet, good for society, and good for you — we now plant a tree with every order in the Maavee app! Learn about the many benefits of reforestation, not the least of which is that we’re happier and less stressed when we spend time in nature. This is another “giving opportunity” in the Maavee Cares collection. Ahhhh, the cycle of life! Learn more on the Maavee app home screen.

As we referenced this month’s theme of mental health in the workplace this World Mental Health Day, we wanted to shine the spotlight on a topic often disguised as dedication or productivity: workaholism. It can easily creep into your life and takes a toll on relationships, health, and personal joy. According to Malissa Clark in A Workaholic’s Guide to Reclaiming Your Life, small changes can help you restore balance without sacrificing success. Redefine what’s truly urgent, embrace rest, and prioritize recovery. Remember, personal well-being isn’t optional—it’s essential. Taking time to disconnect, pursue hobbies, and care for your health will fuel a more fulfilled and productive life, both at work and beyond. There is no shortage of tips, tricks and opportunities to explore in Journeys and check out Malissa’s book, Never Not Working, on The Bookshelf in the Maavee app.
